And so a couple of weeks ago we found this little black box with the well recognizable Gentleman’s Brand logo in our mailbox.
Ever since, I carried the Double Agent Pen on me to find out how it would perform not only at home, but especially on the go. Because that’s where we want to put a portable vaporizer to the test.

Preparing the Double Agent Pen
The Ambassador Kit V4’s Double Agent Pen is a concentrate only vaporizer, with a dry herb cartridge sold separately at GentlemansVapes.com. The latter we weren’t able to try, so after charging up with the included charger we only had to choose between using the V2 concentrate cartridge (pictured above) or the Mega V2 concentrate cartridge (pictured below).
Something which makes this vaporizer stand out from the rest is the Double Agent Pen’s voltage can be adjusted by twisting the dial at the bottom. I’ve been vaporizing BHO and Ice-o-lator between 3.8 and 4.0 voltage.
You’ll want to find the right balance for the product you are vaping by trial and error.
Gentleman’s Brand recommends the following:
- V2 Cartridge: 3.8V to 4.2V
- Mega V2 Cartridge: 3.8V to 4.2V
- Glass Globe (not included): 4.0V to 4.2V
- Dry Herb Cartridge (not included): 3.6V to 4.0V
- Saboteur Tank (not included): 3.8V to 4.2V
Before you’re good to go, Gentleman’s Brand recommends “priming” the concentrate cartridges, which has been detailed extensively in the manual. What it basically boils down to is they recommend dripping some concentrate (by heating it up if necessary) on the heating coil at the center of the cartridge. Heat it up a little, after which you can fill the V2 Cartridge with up to 0.2-0.4 grams of concentrate, or up to 0.5-1.0 grams in the Mega Cartridge.
For testing purposes, we stuck with the smaller V2 cartridge.
Using the Double Agent Pen
The Double Agent Pen fits perfectly in your regular jeans’ pockets. The stainless steel body and parts are screwed on except for the mouth piece. But unlike previously tested pen vaporizers I was never worried to lose a part accidentally.
When prepped before leaving your house, it makes for the ideal quick dab while you’re on the go. Unlike a dabrig, you’re able to take a puff and turn the Double Agent off for a puff at a later moment. Even with a microdab, I was able to get at least 5 good hits before I had to refill. Ideally though, you’ll want to fill it up a bit more so you won’t have to refill when you’re out in public. It’s’ not something you’re going to want to explain.
- Adjustable voltage settings
- Discrete, yet beautifully detailed
- Durability (parts used)
- Battery life
- Coil technology is bound for an update
- No mesh screen in the mouth piece
What I really like about the Ambassador Kit V4 is its incredible amount of detail combined with a slick stainless steel body. From a distance it’s discrete, from up close the Double Agent Pen is beautiful.
The biggest reason I’ll be keeping the Double Agent Pen on me in the future though, are the adjustable voltage settings.
As of writing, for $79.95, you can order your own Ambassador Kit V4 at the Gentleman’s Brand webshop with free USPS priority shipping. A great deal if you ask me!
