Hi again everyone, it’s been way too long since my last posting, so I wanted to come back with something incredible. Tonight I pair Prairie Artisan Ales’ Christmas Bomb, which is a ‘Christmas’ spiced up version of their original ‘BOMB!’ a coffee infused imperial stout, with this amazing, pungent piney Albert Walker kief from Kind Love dispensary here in Denver, AND some homemade Cherry CBD dabs that taste like cherry pie with every exhalation. This is going to be explosive in all the best ways.
I begin by pouring the beer into the snifter. It’s as black as night and just a tiny amount of espresso colored head. Smells like BOMB! right away. I take a sip. The first thing that hits me is the coffee notes, with hints of some clove like spice with the malts. On the aftertaste I get more coffee and almost minty like flavor as well.
Now I take a fresh hit of the Albert Walker kief while my palate is filled with the Christmas Bomb. The entire bowl is filled with fresh kief. It starts out with notes of charred oak, earthy wood, dark chocolate and then peppermint at the end from the beer. So good. I go back in forth with hits of kief and sips of beer, the taste of Christmas is really right here. Coffee on Christmas morning, the taste of black pepper, mint and evergreen pine.
Then I hit the Cherry CBD dabs…
Chocolate covered cherries soaked in good coffee, forests filled with iced gingerbread men. The buzz is like being eight years old, opening up Optimus Prime and some G.I. Joe’s, cartoons on in the background, potpourri on the stove. Very heady high, and relaxing. I take a hit of kief, then a dab of CBD and then a sip of the beer. It’s so good, now I’m getting nutmeg, vanilla, white chocolate and smoked dates. The enjoyable bitterness of the coffee flavors really accentuate all of these other taste sensations, it’s like having different flavored creams in a latte. The distinct cherries, oak and chocolate when all three are done in succession is just something I’ll never forget.
That’s it for this time everyone. If you are in Colorado, Denver especially, I would definitely recommend picking up some Christmas Bomb and pairing it with some of this kief from Kind Love. Really added so many dimensions when I was going back and forth between the two.
Until next time, Puff Puff Sip!
