Cannabis Culture

1) Getting Doug with High

The obvious first one on the list.

Getting Doug with High is a new weekly stream of Doug Benson getting high with celebrities. It’s live on Wednesday’s at 4.15 PM PST. Or, you can go to Doug’s YouTube channel and watch the recorded interviews.

I think I’ve pretty much watched them all and I can’t recommend watching it enough to other stoners.

If you like to get high and watch other people get high, you should definitely consider subscribing!

2) High Maintenance

High Maintenance is a web series created by husband and wife team Ben Sinclair and Katja Blichfeld and produced by Janky Clown Productions. Created a year ago, Janky Clown is a collaborative effort between Blichfeld (Emmy Award-nominated casting director on NBC’s “30 Rock” and CW’s “The Carrie Diaries”), Sinclair (Actor and editor, has appeared on “Delocated”, “30 Rock”, “A Gifted Man”, “Law & Order: SVU”, and “The Big C”), and Russell Gregory (talent manager and owner of Regarding Entertainment).

The series follows around a nameless marijuana dealer, delivering his precious goods around New York City. Every episode features a new, usually stressed out character (or multiple), waiting around for “the guy” to come by. At some point the transaction is made in a usually, odd situation.

The show’s quite funny and has been featured as vimeo staff pick a couple of times.

Consciousness & Psychedelics

3) Reset.me

Amber Lyon, 3-time Emmy award winning journalist, was a CNN journalist covering social justice issues which lead to her suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. An Ayahuasca treatment cured her of the disorder and led to a radical spiritual and career shift.

Lyon is developing a website, Reset.Me, which strives to provide accurate journalism on psychedelics and alternative therapies for depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, addiction, and other health conditions.

“We seek to give those who need to hit the ‘reset’ button in life information for improving mental and physical well being.Through the aggregation of content and production of independent journalism by experienced reporters, Reset.Me aims to create an open discussion surrounding psychedelics and alternative therapies.”

4) Omega Point

Omega Point is a series of eye-opening videos by Omid Pakbin mainly based on Alan Watts and Terence Mckenna’s ideas, lectures and books. The short videos are a good start in your journey to discovering Alan Watts, Terence Mckenna, Carl Sagan and many more inspirational people.

5) Joe Rogan Experience

The Joe Rogan Experience is a biweekly online YouTube podcast with a huge following and many interesting guests from all different fields. From Neuroscientists to MMA fighters, outdoorsmen to comics. The podcasts are very long (3 hours!) but are uncencensored and cover basically everything Joe and his guest(s) can come up with. I’ve personally found it extremely relaxing to listen to while working.

6) Shots of Awe

shots of awe

Ever ponder the miracle of life? Or perhaps wonder about the evolution of intelligence? In Shots of Awe, “Performance Philosopher” Jason Silva chases his inspiration addiction as he explores these topics and more. Every week Jason freestyles his way into the complex systems of society, technology and human existence and discusses the truth and beauty of science in a form of existential jazz.

“Think of Shots of Awe as ‘trailers for the mind’, philosophical espresso shots that distill big ideas into psychedelic mind candy, short bursts of inspiration meant to dissolve boundaries of thought and act as a catalyst for creativity.
Shots of Awe is meant to arrest transience, celebrate wonder and beauty and mark a moment of ecstasy.” – Jason Silva

7) Tragedy & Hope
