By an Urban Shaman

When I felt the urge to start experimenting with LSD, I thought lets give the natural analog a whirl first since it’s legal in the Netherlands anyways. I bought some seeds and wanted to experiment with what levels of effect different doses could bring you.

I found out the shells of the seeds are what makes your stomach go crazy

Research into LSA

Through a bit of research, I found out the shells of the seeds are what makes your stomach go crazy. The seeds themselves carry a bit of the nauseating stuff in them but as we’ll come to later, I’ve found a way around this.

After the seeds had soaked, I took all the shells off. It’s definitely worth your while to make sure all the drab that’s left comes off and your seeds are completely clean. Take your time. It’s a ritual. The effort you put in will be returned, especially since the end result will be spread throughout your body and change your awareness.

Hawaiian Baby Wood Rose seeds are very, very tough

Experimenting with LSA

Because I wanted to know every different effect level, I started with one seed in my mouth just chewing on it and letting it dissolve by my saliva while being keenly aware of what changes it brought me, which takes a while because Hawaiian Baby Wood Rose seeds are very, very tough.

What if I’m some random tribesman coming across a plant and seed I didn’t know yet, how would he experiment?

I thought, what if I’m some random tribesman coming across a plant and seed I didn’t know yet, how would he experiment and find out what he’s got in his mouth. I know for a fact that the way tribes do this, is by giving incremental small doses to young men and I happened to fit that description. In short, such a small dose is noticeable but insufficient to be called a trip or worth your while.

3 days later i did the same with 3 seeds, the effects were more noticeable but so was the nausea. Again not a valuable experience and well, slightly nauseating.

Another 3 days later I took the 5 peeled seeds that were left to a friends place who happened to have a mortar, pestle, some random fruit and some Syrian rue.

Developing the LSA Recipe

I put the seeds in some water again to let them soften up enough to be crushed by the pestle, and along the way added half an orange, some pomegranate seeds, three grapes, half a lemon, a spoonful of honey, a pinch of Syrian rue, and some drops of blue lotus tincture I had left. For me, it’s the little accents in the concoction that make it special. For example you could add a bit of passion flower extract, or a few rose petals from a rose you received from somebody out of love. It adds a sense of emotional finesse to your mixture, which i enjoy.

Remember you’re not making fast food, you’re expanding your consciousness

And remember a ritual is like a framework to shape your own mind. What do you want to make? What do you want to experience? How much care do you think you are worth yourself? It all matters towards what you’re making. You’re not making fast food, you’re expanding your consciousness. Big difference.

And of course, always do your own research on if the ingredients you want to add are safe to combine.

After I added all the ingredients to my squishy mix of fruit, LSA and MAOI, I let it soak for a while before sieving it. The remaining cordial I spread over two glasses of cold water. The first i downed in full right away and the second i took my time to enjoy. The result was a lovely trip with minimal nausea.

It was like being 5 years old again(…)

To summarize my trip, it was like being 5 years old again, very close to my core, while intensely loving myself and wanting to do nothing else but jump around and dance in spirals which felt very natural to me. It really helped me recover some kid like creativity, you know, the stuff that seems to slowly leak out of us while growing up.

I’m aware how i had built up some tolerance over the past week so I’m quite sure 5 seeds will give you a decent trip depending on your body size of course. I’m 1,77M and 77KG, do the math.

The only thing I’d change or add to my concoction the next time would be a splash of red wine, and I’d let it soak for longer just to amplify the effect a bit more.

So, without any further ado, my LSA cordial recipe:

You will need:

  • A calm mind
  • Good vibes
  • Mortar and pestle
  • A sieve
  • Two glasses
  • 5 Hawaiian Baby Wood Rose seeds
  • A spoonful of honey
  • A variation of fruits you like (I used an orange, half a lemon, some pomegranate seeds, and 3 grapes.)

You could add:

  • A splash of wine
  • A pinch of Syrian rue
  • A bit of passion flower and or blue lotus tincture
  • Some rose petals received out of love
  • Any other safe herbs, tinctures or ingredients with emotional value.

It’s important that you feel good about the end result, you should feel proud of what you’ve concocted. And happy to start drinking it. Making it taste good and spreading the seeds over water is what’s going to help you skip the nausea.
