Welcome to The Stoned Society, the one man company of Mauro Picavet in the Netherlands.
Activist
Since January 2016 I’m on the board as secretary of the Union for Abolition of Cannabis Prohibition NGO (Verbond voor Opheffing van het Cannabisverbod, or short VOC Nederland).
Writer
I am fluent in speaking, writing in English and Dutch. Specialized in the legal cannabis space. In 2020 I started the Dutch cannabis industry website cannabisindustrie.nl (and since 2023 a sister site for the hemp industry, hennepindustrie.nl) and host the Cannabis Industrie Podcast. Also on Spotify.
Consultancy
Since 2011 I’m active in the cannabis space. I’ve worked with several NGOs and my experience of writing, editing, social media, building cannabis related websites and organizing events could be of use to you.

Writing
My writing has been published for several companies, including CNNBS, Cannabis News Network, Suzy Seeds, Biotabs and VapoShop.
Editing
I have a lot of experience editing text online through WordPress and Magento.
Social Media
I’ve built up several accounts, including The Stoned Society twitter page from scratch to a whopping 36.000 followers. And all organic!
Building websites
Apart from The Stoned Society in several renditions, I’ve built the cannabisindustrie.nl and Cannabis Industrie Awards website, VOC Nederland website, HomeGrown Cup website, Veilig Thuis Kweken website, Cannagenethics website, Cannabis en Verkeer website, De Nationale Cannabis Krant website, CannaStemBus website, the first version of the Justice for Johan website and have helped create the Cannabis News Network website.
Organizing
I’ve helped produce several events, including four times the Cannabis Liberation Day festival in Amsterdam, seven HomeGrown Cups and co-founded De Gouden Gieter. With the NGO Union for Abolition of Cannabis Prohibition, we produced also several smaller events. Including the Cannabis Reguleren in de Praktijk debate, press meetings & industry dinners.
