Motivation
Cannabis I find by far the most interesting and broad subject out there to be working on and for.
After meeting Joep Oomen for the first time in the summer of 2014 in Antwerp and joining ENCOD, I became an activist at VOC Nederland after an interview with the then Secretary (now Chairman) Derrick Bergman. I was directed to him after meeting Joep Oomen in the summer of 2014 in Antwerp. Things were suddenly going backward quickly for cannabis in the Netherlands. There were plans to move cannabis containing over 15% THC to Schedule 1 (as a hard drug, on par with heroin), the growshop ban, and the already passed D.U.I law (that could end up costing your license if the police find any THC in your blood). If this was true, I would become an activist. I did, and since January 2016 I’m the Secretary of VOC Nederland, with Derrick moving up to the position of Chairman.
Activism, however, doesn’t pay the bills. As such, I’ve worked with several companies and other NGOs. Some of which are listed below.
Projects and business I’m associated with
- Cannabisindustrie.nl (Founded by me in July 2020)
- Cannabis Liberation Day (2015-2018)
- Stichting Verbond voor Opheffing van het Cannabisverbod (NGO)
- Veilig Thuis Kweken
- De Gouden Gieter
- CNNBS columnist
- Cannagenethics (NGO)
- HomeGrown Cup
- Suzy Seeds
- Cannabis en Verkeer
